If you know Sonesta ES Suites, you know we’re all about Everyday Surprises. Our unique approach to hospitality is why you’re likely to find treats at the reception desk or why you might be invited to share photos of your pet on “Love Your Pet” day. So as the Sonesta ES Suites Charlotte Arrowood prepared to unveil its newly RE:imagined look on March 18, it had another surprise up its sleeve, and this one was for the local food bank.
“As we prepared for our Grand Opening Open House, we wanted to do something for the community rather than just showcase our newly redesigned hotel,” said Michelle Seamon, Director of Sales. “March was National Nutrition month, so we thought this would be a great opportunity to collect nonperishable items for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.”
The event was a huge success, bringing together members of the local business community, Chamber of Commerce and some local clients of the hotel. During the cocktail reception at “The Pour” – the casual area in the lobby where guests can gather for a smoothie, coffee and other drinks – there was plenty of conversation about the stylish new look of the all-suites property. But an all-around feeling of good will also filled the air, thanks to the addition of the food drive.
In the end, between food that was brought to the Open House and food that was pledged and then delivered later in the month, the event collected enough to fill the food bank’s pantry for the Easter holiday. “The food bank dropped off two empty barrels at the beginning of the month,” Seamon continued, “and both of them were full when they returned to pick them up on April 1st.”
