“Sonesta Day” Opens the Sonesta Bee Cave Austin

beecave_lobbyThere are lots of reasons to visit Austin, Texas, from its world-renowned music scene to its rich history and thriving business community. Sonesta is thrilled to give you another reason: our newly opened Sonesta Bee Cave Austin!

On July 5th, we opened our newly polished doors to locals, the media and guests alike. After an exciting ribbon-cutting ceremony, guests were invited into the Colony Ballroom, tastefully arranged to demonstrate the hotel’s banquet capabilities. Self-guided tours followed, along with samples of hors d’oeuvres and drinks, compliments of the property’s Executive Chef Patrick Newman. The opening was met with great fanfare and the mayor officially proclaimed it “Sonesta Day!”

An Exciting New Hotel in a Scenic and Convenient Locale

As the newest addition to the Sonesta Collection, the stylish 195-room Sonesta Bee Cave Austin mirrors the local geography’s color palette and energy. The lovely earth tones of the Sonesta Bee Cave Austin say it all: you’re in the midst of the beautiful, rolling terrain of Texas Hill Country. The hotel’s earthen palette and energy reflect these beautiful surroundings, enhanced with hand-crafted woods and rich textures of stones and other natural materials. Reflecting the brand’s commitment to delivering a collection of diverse and distinctive properties as individual as its guests, Sonesta Bee Cave offers a sense of place, not just a place to stay.

The Sonesta Bee Cave Austin is located at the Hill Country Galleria – a lifestyle center that covers 1.3 million square feet of world-class dining, shopping and an outdoor entertainment amphitheater. Hiking and biking opportunities include a 2.3 mile walking trail right on the property. Guests can choose from a myriad of outdoor activities, while the cultural and commercial highlights of Austin and environs are also nearby. If you prefer to stay onsite, you will delight in the bee-themed hotel nomenclature, from The Hive sundry shop and Apiary boardroom, to Colony ballroom, Honeycomb meeting rooms and The Swarm, a delightful outdoor swimming pool and sun deck.

“Farm to Fork” Cuisine: Ideal for Private Dining or Large-Scale Events

Chef Newman, who hails from Louisiana and holds a degree from Johnson & Wales, has taken the helm at the Meridian 98 Bar & Terrace, the rooftop terrace bar and lounge. He oversees menu creation and beverage selection, as well as banquet and event menus for the 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space. As for the rooftop lounge, it provides breathtaking views of the Texas Hill Country and a commitment to “farm to fork” locally-sourced fresh produce. “The best Texas cuisine is bold in flavor, a little daring and always sourced from local farms,” said Chef Newman. “I am enjoying sharing my creations with our guests.”

The hotel also offers the ability to create the event of a lifetime and the ideal business meeting. With over 10,000 square feet of meeting space and just minutes away from Texas’ wedding capital, Dripping Springs, it welcomes weddings, special events and gatherings of all sorts – from super lux to ultra-laid back. Whether dreaming of an intimate family celebration or an elaborate gala, Sonesta Bee Cave Austin is prepared to deliver a memorable occasion. Complimentary WiFi, a 24-hour business center and a host of business amenities round out the experience. The hotel is located just over 20 minutes from the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
