Amazing Moment: Second Line Thursdays in New Orleans

Desire_CornerAt Sonesta we see that the act of traveling brings so much enrichment to our guests – they meet new people, engage with the local culture, explore a destination, taste new flavors and they leave with an experience that, without traveling, would not be possible.  As a brand we have decided to celebrate the magical moments that happen when our guests immerse themselves into a locale with our new program – Amazing Moments.

Each of our full service hotels will be celebrating an Amazing Moment per week that will surprise and delight our guests, creating a lasting moment in time that they can look back upon and remember the exact moment they tasted a Maryland Crab Cake for the first time in Baltimore or found themselves amidst a long standing New Orleans tradition.

This month we are highlighting the Amazing Moment you have to look forward to when you next visit the Royal Sonesta New Orleans – Second Line Thursday.  Every Thursday guests of our French Quarter hotel are invited to meet and mingle with other guests and the hotel’s management team at the award winning Irvin Mayfield’s Jazz Playhouse at 4 p.m. to experience Sonesta’s Food is Art and Liquid Art philosophies at an exclusive reception featuring a complimentary signature cocktail and hors d’oeuvres.  The traditional NOLA experience kicks off at 5 p.m. involving live jazz music, an umbrella and a handkerchief. The Second Line moves through the playhouse, the courtyard, to carriageway, up Bourbon, through Arcade and around the lobby ending back at Irvin Mayfield’s just in time to enjoy the show that evening.
