Rumming The Charles

image002This weekend is the true harbinger of Fall in New England: The Head of The Charles.  ArtBar at the Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston salutes all the rowers, friends and families who compete and cheer at this historic regatta, and unveils a cocktail to toast the event.


1 1/2 oz           Shellback Rum In honor
3/4 oz              Solerno (or Orange Curacao)
3/4 oz              Pineapple Juice
1/2 oz              Lime Juice
2-3 dashes       Pichauds Bitters
Rocks optional – just like The Charles.


Recognized by NECN as one of the city’s best patios, ArtBar’s patio setting is unique.   The view is one-of-a-kind, as the terrace is nestled on the Cambridge-side of the Charles River with a river view as far as the eye can see.  Sailboats, rowers and the city skyline dot the horizon.  Local seasonal American fare is prepared by Chef Brian Dandro and served on the picturesque patio under the shade of tan umbrellas, bright orange chairs and brushed silver tables set with sparkling glassware.  There isn’t a prettier patio in sight.  And as we head into Fall, ArtBar has just installed new outdoor fireplaces to set a warm and cozy mood.  The new menu celebrates Fall in New England, specials every night, including PaintNight, ArtBarBQ, Lobsterfest, Farm Share, Date Night, Sunday Oyster Brunch and more.
