At Sonesta, we are completely committed to creating productive and unforgettable meetings for you and your meeting attendees. These are not simply words; this is a promise backed by our Meeting Planner Advisory Council, or MPAC, the first advisory board of its kind in the hotel industry.
The Sonesta meeting advisory board was first launched in 1983 to help define and drive the direction of Sonesta and help the company grow. Since then, it has fostered stronger communication with meeting planners nationwide and enhanced Sonesta’s understanding of the needs and concerns of the meeting planning industry.
The council’s mission is to provide a forum for meeting planners and council members to discuss current trends in the industry, such as creating dynamic spaces; to strategize creative solutions to challenges we all face, whether they involve technical issues or engaging ways to fill “down time”; and to share knowledge, experiences and best practices in regularly scheduled meetings and communication among the participants. Sonesta is pleased to also offer the opportunity for several face-to-face meetings of MPAC, hosted at one of our properties so that members can get to know Sonesta and our destinations personally.
The Sonesta MPAC’s 2016 members were recently announced and they run the gamut from lawyers to financiers, from management gurus to medical researchers. During the first meeting they took the time to get to know one another, discussed the results of the first survey they participated in, and framed an overview of the issues in the meeting planner industry in the coming year.
