What do you like most about working within and leading  hotels?

I really enjoy teaching my team and expanding their circle of knowledge.  Their professional growth is important to me and I strive to make them a stronger individual.

During your time with Sonesta – what have you enjoyed most?

In my 5 years with Sonesta I have enjoyed a lot of different things but the one thing I have enjoyed the most is the people.  From day 1 the people at Sonesta made us feel welcomed and part of their family. I have met so many great new friends and love growing the Sonesta brand with them.

What has been your hotel’s most successful Everyday Surprise?

This summer we did “Make Your Own Ice Cream Sundae”.  All of our guests, kids, and staff loved it and it was fun to see everyone’s sundae creation.

If you weren’t a hotelier, what would you be?

Professional speed boat racer.

What do you enjoy most about living in the local St. Louis area?

I’m a huge baseball fan and St. Louis is known as Baseball Heaven.  St. Louis is also only 2 hours away from Lake of the Ozarks where I like to boat and my alma mater Mizzou where I have season tickets for football.

Name your favorite place to visit—  any destination in the world.

Cabo San Lucas.  Awesome beaches and deep sea fishing.

Name three items you absolutely do not travel without.

Sunglasses, headphones, and phone.

What is something your guests would be surprised to know about you?

I have 6 tattoos.

If you ever find yourself staying at Sonesta ES Suites in St. Louis, be sure to say a friendly “hello” to these two properties wonderful General Manager, Bill Carey!
