“Jazz for All Ages” Benefit to Regale Hilton Head Island

On Wednesday and Thursday, October 30 & 31, Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island will host the 6th Annual “Bob Masteller’s Jazz for All Ages” Jazz Festival. The event raises funds to preserve jazz through education and live performance, while providing instruments, music lessons, scholarships and facility access to promising young artists.

The two-night event begins with a centennial celebration of Nat King Cole entitled “Straighten Up and Fly Right.” This salute to the legendary performer features vocalist Jane Monheit, a multi Grammy-nominated singer who the New York Times called “a voice of phenomenal beauty,” and the magnetic voice of Clint Holmes, nominated for two Grammys. Special guest trumpeter Dominick Farinacci, the first global ambassador to Jazz at Lincoln Center, will also perform. They’re all under the direction of Christian Tamburr, internationally renowned composer and arranger.

On the second night, the Deas Guyz Orchestra graces the stage, with its front man Reggie Deas. (You might have heard them under their former name, Nu World Beat.) Their repertoire of soul, rhythm & blues, Motown, pop, rock, reggae and more brings the house down every time. How could it not, with the sounds of The Temptations, The Drifters, Smokey Robinson and Marvin Gaye?

Tickets start at $40 per person per night, with doors opening at 7:15. Or join the pre-show VIP reception each evening in the Santee Ballroom Lobby at 6:30, with cocktails, tapas and live entertainment. VIP tickets are $100 per person per night.

Join us to celebrate jazz and to support the next generation of this beloved musical form!
