At Sonesta, we love dogs, and many of our hotels, including all of our Sonesta ES Suites, are dog-friendly. As part of our #CultureofCaring, our hotels have participated in numerous efforts to support local animal shelters and other organizations that benefit pets. The Clift recently featured drink specials that benefited the SPCA, the Chase Park Plaza hosted brunch to benefit Stray Rescue of St. Louis, and we celebrated National Dog Day brand-wide with treats for our four-legged guests and donations to those pups in need.

Our love of dogs and #CultureofCaring extends outside of our hotel walls though, and one of our Sonesta family members and his family are celebrating their rescue dog’s win in the World’s Cutest Rescue Dog Contest.

Meet Kasey, rescued by Bob Cosgrove, GM of Sonesta Philadelphia Downtown Rittenhouse Square. Kasey went paw-to-paw with 7,000 dogs to win PEOPLE’s World’s Cutest Rescue Dog Contest Presented by PEDIGREE.

Things haven’t always been so happy for Kasey. The 6-year-old Keeshond spent four years at a puppy mill where she was bred, neglected, and left out in the elements year-round before being rescued and adopted by her family.

Thankfully for Kasey, the Cosgrove family were familiar with and active in pet rescue. Sheila Cosgrove has been involved in a rescue network, consisting of numerous Keeshond owners, on Facebook since 2010.  It was through this group that they found Kasey, who is a foster failure; as soon as the Cosgrove family got her as a foster dog, they knew she was there to stay. She has gone from being a skittish dog covered in bald spots to a loving family pet with a fluffy coat that everyone wants to pet. Time, patience, and love has led her to a full life as a loving family member.

On a recent social media post regarding the win, Bob Cosgrove noted, “We are overwhelmed by the support of friends and family. The culture of caring goes beyond the work place. This is why I love Sonesta.”

The World’s Cutest Rescue Dog prize includes an appearance on the TODAY show, a year’s supply of dog food from PEDIGREE, and a $1,000 donation to the Keeshond Affiliated Rescuers of the Mid-Atlantic to help dogs like Kasey.
