Q: What do you like most about working within and leading a hotel?

What I most enjoy about working within and leading a hotel is leading my team in providing an outstanding product for our guests and a fun atmosphere for our team! I enjoy working with each team member and showing them that I don’t just sit behind a desk and that I enjoy assisting in each department!
Q: Since joining Sonesta – what opportunity have you enjoyed the most?

The opportunity I have enjoyed the most is being part of a “newer” brand and assisting the company as it grows. Since I started with Sonesta we have added 15+ Sonesta ES Suites and I assisted with on-boarding one of our new locations. It was a learning experience that I will take with me throughout my career.
Q: In your opinion, what has been your hotel’s most successful Everyday Surprise?

Our team in Dublin truly enjoys providing Everyday Surprises for our guests and have many success stories! One that stands out the most has been our Halloween themed Evening Socials. With fun and frightening décor and food choices the guests always get a kick out of it and many talk about them for weeks after.

Q: If you weren’t a hotelier, what would you be?

I started in Hospitality right out of high school and I truly enjoy working in the hospitality field! If I wasn’t a hotelier I would be in real estate. My wife and I watch HGTV, sometimes too much, and have flipped a few houses. We enjoy seeing a “tired” house turn into the shining star on the street.

Q: What do you enjoy most about living in Columbus/Dublin?

I was born and raised in Dublin. My wife and I traveled around the US while working as a hotelier. We got to experience some fun areas of the US but ultimately when we had our second son we knew we would want to come back to Dublin. Dublin is an amazing city with a great outlook for the future. Everyone is friendly and there is so much to do, whether it is kid friendly or nightlife activities. We also have a large portion of family living in Dublin, so it is very nice to be closer to family!
Q: Name your favorite place to visit — any destination in the world.

My favorite place to visit is practically anywhere with a water view. Whether it be on a lake, next to an ocean or relaxing on a river. I enjoy seeing nature and what it offers us! Nothing like relaxing next to some waves or skiing on the back of a boat on a lake!
Q: Name three items you absolutely do not travel without.

The three items I do not travel without are my cell phone, clothing and hair gel!
Q: What is something your guests would be surprised to know about you?

Most guests do not know that I am an identical twin. My twin brother lives here in Dublin with his family as well. Something I would love to do one day is play some tricks on our long term guests, they would love it and get a kick out of it!
