Congratulations to The Clift Royal Sonesta Hotel and Kevin Barry Art Advisory on being a Hospitality Design Network Award Winner! Our iconic San Francisco hotel’s recent renovation was paired with art to both bring the past to life and to look to the future, and the installation has the honor of being the winner in the Hospitality Design Network’s Custom Art + Installation category.
From more than 1,000 entries submitted across the project and product categories, 10 judges selected nearly 140 finalists, and we are proud to have The Clift stand out among the best-of-the-best.
Featured artists in the installation, which is heavily inspired by San Francisco, both the city and surrounding natural beauty and climate, include Mya Kerner, Laura Stewart, Baldvin Ringsted, Corrie Sullivan, Nicholas Biddle, and Tiffany Lusteg.
About the installation, from Kevin Barry Art Advisory:
“In the guest rooms and corridors of The Clift, giclées featuring San Francisco city life from the time of the property’s founding are the dominant decorative theme. Iconic vintage photographs of the Palace of Fine Arts, the Golden Gate Bridge, City Hall, and the seal of the Pacific International Exposition from 1915 serve as attractive postcards to the area’s past.”
