It’s been a while since we have been able to take our #CultureofCaring on the road, so when our Executive Committee at Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta had the chance to volunteer at Home of Hope Gwinnett Children’s Shelter, they couldn’t wait to roll up their sleeves to help out!
Home of Hope is a residential care facility which provides services for homeless children from 0-17 years of age along with their young mothers. They also provide care and services for homeless girls aging out of the foster care system at 18 years of age including customized “Life Plans” that are designed around the physical, emotional and educational needs of the kids, while helping Mom create a plan of action to get back on her feet.
Making people feel at home is part of who we are at Sonesta, so pitching in to paint and set up clean, comfortable and welcoming spaces for residents came naturally to our team. We hope they enjoy their new rooms!
Sonesta’s connection to Home of Hope is not a new one; following a past leadership conference held at Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta, a $5,000 donation was made to the organization. It is an honor for us, especially during Women’s History Month, to support and honor the work that Home of Hope does to care for and advance women and children. We look forward to future opportunities to collaborate with Home of Hope
