  1. We just had a two night stay at the Sonesta in Ft. Lauderdale. It was like having a vacation in the IKEA showroom — that is not a compliment. Everything about the place was cheap from the paint, to the paper thin mirrors (already corroding), to the lack of art work (the little mirrors stuck on the walls with sticky tape (I saw the tape), no balconies, no bath tubs . . . NOT EVEN A CHAIR IN THE ROOM to sit in. You are money grubbing corporate people. The location is prime, you wanted it redone fast so you could make a buck. That was a first and last stay at a Sonesta for us. BTW, the service wasn’t great either. And the lobby, again, cheap, cheap, cheap, cheap, . . . and dark and uninviting. Awful.

    • I’m sorry that you didn’t enjoy your recent experience at Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach. The hotel has not been renovated since it joined the Sonesta portfolio, but I will be sure to share your comments with the property team for consideration in the future. Most of our guests really seem to enjoy the wall to wall window views overlooking the beach and Atlantic Ocean, ocean inspired color palette, and relaxed contemporary South Florida vibe of the public spaces. The extensive photography available on our website really brings the experience to life and should have provided a good sense of what to expect.
