Today we welcome Haseeb Arain, the Director of Catering at The Chase Park Plaza Royal Sonesta to share wedding observations from recent years, in addition to some gorgeous photos of Chase Park Plaza weddings.
Wedding trends have changed over the past couple of years due to Covid, and for 2022/2023 leads, we’re noticing that a lot of couples are considering weddings that are under 200 people. Very recently we have seen another spike of interest in micro weddings, but nothing close to what it was in last year. We definitely get the sense that people are ready to party again!
We’ve been seeing a lot of gold with pops of warm colors. In the past where grass walls or photo booths were very common, these days couples focus more on what their personal likes are rather than trends.
Couples still seem interested in Champagne walls or Champagne displays, but we are also trying to bring back passed champagne upon arrival instead of guests going to a bar directly. In recent years, a lot of our weddings have featured plated meals over stations and buffets to avoid lines and to facilitate social distancing. People have also definitely been loving the outdoor space attached to the venue, as it allows theirs guests to easily step out for fresh air
