January is National Mentoring Month, and if you follow us on LinkedIn, you may have seen our introduction to mentors who are part of new apprenticeship program launched in conjunction with American Hotel & Lodging Association and AHLEI – American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.
Our hotel leaders have decades of experience to offer, and as part of the program, are sharing that experience, along with their time, as mentors to develop future hospitality leaders.

As part of the mentorship program, mentors and apprentices work together throughout the work week to develop competencies and skills outlined for them, and a monthly performance review of the mentee is also completed. The program also includes self-paced work for the apprentice, a bi-weekly check in call, and an upcoming speaker series. In addition to work with their mentors, participants in the program have access to AHLA Certifications Funded by the AHLA Foundation.
AHLA Is the largest hotel association in the U.S. representing ALL segments of the industry nationwide. AHLA is the singular voice representing every segment of the hotel industry including major chains, independent hotels, management companies, REIT’s, bed and breakfasts, industry partners and more.
The global hospitality industry turns to the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) for the best in training and education for all segments of hospitality. For more than 65 years, AHLEI has worked to provide hospitality organizations and schools with quality resources to train, educate, and certify hospitality professionals, first as the educational arm of the American Hotel & Lodging Association and since February 2017 as part of the National Restaurant Association’s Training & Certification Division.
