“We stayed at the Chase on our first weekend getaway since Corona virus shut things down in March. We were on the 7th floor in a King Suite overlooking the pool. Our plans were for bicycling around the city, dining, & enjoying some of the great breweries in the area. The pool was just being filled and would’ve been wonderful after biking all day, but totally understandable in these times.
Erin, at the Front Desk, checked us in on Friday and out on Sunday, and was extremely helpful when we had questions, concerns, etc. We were even granted a later checkout so we could do some add’l. biking on Sunday morning! It is a lovely hotel in a perfect location for our itinerary!”

“My 90-year-old mother and I received care that was above and beyond any and all expectations in a very difficult season of our lives — the COVID 19 Pandemic. From the moment we received our welcome by Laney, the general manager, she and her staff did everything they could to make our lengthy stay with them — we were there about 5 weeks altogether — pleasurable and met all our needs, often asking if there was anything more they could do for us. They made us feel safe, cared for and almost like family. All the facilities were in exceptionally excellent condition and the service that was provided to us was always prompt, courteous and even kind. We grew to love each and every person on that staff, each of whom always served us graciously, even in a season when all people were under duress.
We will never forget the great gift this was to us as we waited for a safe time for us to return to New York, where the pandemic was strong. Thank you to everyone. Words cannot adequately express our gratitude! Thank you, Laney and team! We love you and we will be back.”

“Five nights of R&R”
“We have been coming to HH for more than five years, and have always stayed in Shipyard. This was our first vacation in 19 years with no kids, so we decided to try Sonesta this time. And we are extremely happy we did. It is a full service resort, understanding that full service during this pandemic means that certain services you would normally have simply aren’t available: room service and daily housekeeping.
We were happy to see that daily room service was not provided…it reduced our contact/exposure risk.
Things are different, for sure. But my expectations were exceeded. We spent a little time at the pool (that was too crowded for my comfort) and found the service polishes was exceptional. I didn’t expect the poolside bar to be open (it wasn’t open the first day), but was pleasantly surprised when it was open on Tuesday.
The beach had plenty of room to spread out, so that’s where we spent most of our time.
We also played tennis at the Van Der Meer tennis facility that is just a few steps from the resort. That is always a highlight of our trips.
We ordered many meals from the restaurant there, opting to eat our food in the room. The bacon cheeseburger was my husband’s favorite, and my favorite was the kids chicken tenders.
We stayed in a standard king room (5th floor) facing the parking lot. We were very pleased with our views of the sunset and the storms blowing through. We especially appreciated how quiet our room was. (See picture).
If you want daily housekeeping, stay home. You aren’t really ready to venture out into the world of COVID. If you want food Delivered to your room, stay home. But If you want to get away and relax, then plan a trip to Sonesta. You won’t regret it.”
